Many strange creature are in world Mythology. Here are descriptions of a few. The centaurs of Greek Mythology are creature that are part human and part horse. They are usually portrayed with the torso and head of a human, and the body of a horse. They are supposed to be angry, fierce creatures.
The unicorn is a mythical creature usually depicted with the body of a horse, but with a single, usually spiral, horn growing out of its forehead. The unicorn is found in all world legends.
In Greek Mythology, the Minotaur was a creature that was part man and part bull. It lived at the center of the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction built by king Minos of Crete especially for the Minotaur.
Pegasus is flying horse from Greek and Roman Mythology. It is generally pictured as white, sometimes with golden wings.
The phoenix is a mythical sacred fire bird with beautiful gold and red plumage. It is found is ancient Phoenician mythology and in myths derived from it. At the end of the life cycle, the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs that it then ignites; both the nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises.
