Ans:- Evans was a young prisoner at the Oxford prison. He had famous for escaping from the jail. He was suffering from kleptomania, but there was no record of violence indulged in by him. He was actually a pleasant person, but very clever and cunning.

Ans:- No, the exam didn’t go as scheduled. At first, there was a delay (late) in conducting the exam, which was about to start at 9:15 am. The Governor asked Jackson to frisk (investigate) the invigilator gave Evans some general instructions, the latter objected to Stephens’ presence in his cell. The exam finally started at 9:25 am.

Ans:- At the starting, everyone believed that the examination was smoothly over. But when Stephens went back to have a check on Evans, he was shocked. He saw McLeery badly injured. Everyone thought that Evans had wounded McLeery and himself escaped in the disguise (by changing face) of the parson. Thus it proved that Governor and his staff had no relief.

Ans:- No, the injured McLeery wouldn’t be able to help the prison officers any more. He will feel weak and frightened because of that incident that had taken place in the cell.

Ans:- The Governor will be able to track Evans at the Golden Lion in Chipping Norton with the help of the clues left behind on the question paper. But all this would be a part of Evans’ plan, and Evans once again will be able to escape from the jail under the nose of the Governor.

Ans:- Evans went to the Golden Lion in chipping Norton. The instruction on the question paper and the numbers mentioned in the correction slip helped him to reach there. He was happy to be out of the prison.

Ans:- I think, of course, criminals must be given the opportunity of learning and of being educated, because, way of education can change their lives into a crime free with a better future. It will compel them to think over the right or wrong thing by educating themselves.

  The author’s acquaintance with Saheb and many of his friends who are  barefoot  rag-pickers introduce her to Seemapuri. Saheb is such a boy who picks up rags roaming street to street many with his friends, Saheb and his entire family live in Seemapuri, it is a slum area located on the periphery of Delhi. Rajkumar shukla was an illiterate poor sharecropper of Champaran, Bihar. He was born on 23 August 1875 at a village Satwaria of Champaran Bihar. During the thirty first session of the Congress in Lucknow in 1916 Shukla met Mahatma Gandhiji as a representative of farmers from Champaran who requested Gandhiji to visit his district to see himself miseries of Indigo sharecroppers there. Because most of the arable lands of Champaran was divided into large estates owned by Englishmen. They forced the Indian tenants to plant 15% of their holdings with Indigo and surrender the entire Indigo harvest as rent.
